13 Jan 2021 @ 13:30 GMT

Do you wish you could learn new pieces faster and more effectively?

One of our most popular blog posts on Practising the Piano is “But it takes me ages to learn a new piece!”. We would all like to be able to learn pieces more quickly but doing so requires the right approach from the outset. In this online workshop, Graham Fitch presents a step-by-step guide to learning new pieces, from laying the right foundations in the beginning through to polishing for a performance that reflects your full potential!

Topics covered include:

  • Initial steps to build a solid foundation and avoid developing bad habits
  • Tools for learning the notes as efficiently as possible
  • How to develop speed
  • Building confidence, tackling technical challenges and problem spots

The material will be useful for pianists of all levels and teachers with a variety of examples from elementary to advanced levels being featured. There will also be opportunities for questions and answers throughout the session.

The session will be recorded and all participants will receive a link to download the video. Therefore, if you are unable to attend the session on the day, you will still be able to watch the video at your convenience.
