Chapter 6 - Scales in Double Thirds
A scale in double thirds is one in which each hand plays two notes simultaneously a third apart, the two hands being an octave apart. This should not be confused with a ‘scale in thirds’, in which each hand plays single notes, the hands playing a third apart (See Chapter 4). Although some examination syllabi require the candidate to play scales in double thirds hands together, they are usually only found hands separately in pieces of music.
