The Exercises of Peter Feuchtwanger

Exercise No. 2

In the second exercise we begin from our lap, using the other hand to lift the arm to the keyboard at the start. Between each note group we throw the hand back to the starting notes CDC (121) with minimum break in sound (quasi-legato). We land on the notes of the descending scale firstly with the 2nd finger, then 3rd, 4th and 5th. As in the previous exercise, the finger that ends the group is flat, all knuckles collapsed, the thumb hanging off the keyboard and the arm also hanging passively. The LH is played using the inverted pattern, starting on E.
