Mozart, Sonata in G, K283 (1st mvt)

Now you’re ready to apply the ideas from the introductory videos to an analysis of Mozart’s Sonata in G major, K.283 (first movement)! Click here to download the score and make sure you have a pencil and some manuscript for working out harmonic reductions. My recommendation is to work in the following way: Listen to and/or play the first movement, and mark phrases. You can do this by using phrase marks (slurs) or breath marks, like you would in a choral score (if you’ve ever sung in a choir). Label the cadences at these end-of-phrase points....
