The time signature is alla breve; feel two beats in a bar, and not four! The eight-bar introduction and the coda (from bar 42) may be played a touch slower than the main body of the work (from bar 8). The alto line connects the first short phrase to the next. Hold on to the RH thumb as you release the upper RH notes and LH octave so that we hear the rests. My fingering allows a good legato at this point – slide from the black note to the white with the 2nd finger....
